Arizona State University has social media policies and procedures that should be followed by all who manage social accounts (staff and students), as the university can be found liable for the content posted to the sites. 

The guiding principle behind social media marketing is that our presence should be continuous, engaging, updated frequently and foster conversation and discussion. Our goal is to keep the college visible to students and external audiences by fostering a sense of connection, belonging and identity. Research evidence suggests that this sense of connection aids in recruitment, retention and development.
